3D Grid on Reinforced Concrete — Rebar Mesh and Diagonal Electrical Cable
Description
3D grid acquired on a reinforced concrete slab with a GSSI StructureScan XT 2.7 GHz antenna: 38 profiles over a 1.2 × 0.6 m area. The horizontal time slices reveal the reinforcement mesh and an electrical cable crossing the surveyed area diagonally.
The diagonal cable is what makes this dataset instructive: on a single 2D profile it produces a hyperbola indistinguishable from a rebar. Only the 3D reconstruction shows that it cuts across the mesh at an angle — the situation that leads to accidental strikes when drilling is planned from 2D scans alone.
Raw unprocessed files, suitable for training on 3D grid interpretation, time-slice reading, and distinguishing embedded services from reinforcement.
